HIGHLINING / ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Highlining is a form of "slacklining", which is the act of balancing on a piece of nylon webbing stretched between two anchor points. The difference is: highlining is up high. It is similar to tight rope walking but there are two main differences. The first difference is the material used. Tight rope walking is on an extremely taught wire or rope whereas highlining is on a piece of dynamic webbing which will always have some slack. Second, highlining does not require the use of a balancing pole. Highliners walk using only their bodies for balance. I fell in love with this sport in 2009 and have included some accomplishments, memorable moments and highlines I've walked below. Enjoy :)

LONGEST HIGHLINE
135 ft. (41 meters) - Moab, Utah

LONGEST SWAMI WALK
(alternate harness with no leg loops)
88 ft. (27 meters) - Moab, Utah

LONGEST LONGLINE
413 ft. (126 meters) - Moab, Utah

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS

Walking the Lost Arrow Spire Highline in 2009, three months after stepping foot on a slackline. This is by far one of the biggest accomplishments of my life.

Placing 3rd in the first ever women's slackline competition in the USA. 1st place: Melissa Bowe & 2nd Place: Elli Schulte. Two phenomenal women that I am so grateful to know!

Pulling this trick off on a very long and exposed highline. Thanks Jared Alden for capturing it!

Making it halfway across the "Spaceline" in Moab. This line was rigged by Alexander Schulz; the first ever spaceline (three lines connected in the middle). I will never forget how difficult this was! There wasn't much to focus on.

Pulling off the same trick with Hayley Ashburn in Yosemite. We were both so scared but decided to do it anyway. This picture came out amazing: again, thanks Jared Alden!

Walking Terry Acomb's 100 ft. long chain in Fruita, CO. Only 13 people in the WORLD had walked this before me.....now I am number 14. The first time I set foot on this, it seemed impossible. But, hard work paid off and I made it across!

Founding Vertigirl Sports with Hayley Ashburn and Jill Kuzman: a women's extreme sports team featuring Rock Climbing, Highlining and BASE jumping.

"Attack the Fishers": a tri-sport project in Moab with extraordinary athletes combining the sports of rock climbing, highlining and BASE Jumping. I will never forget what it was like to see a BASE jumper fly OVER me as I was on the line.
